These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GeoClear API and website (geoclear.io) operated by GeoClear ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the service you agree to these Terms.
GeoClear provides a US address intelligence API that returns verified address data, enrichment fields (FIPS, census tract, flood zone, timezone), and related geographic data derived from public sources including the National Address Database (NAD) and Overture Maps.
You may use the GeoClear API for any lawful commercial or personal purpose. You may not:
Each tier has a daily request quota and per-minute rate limit enforced on your API key. Exceeding these returns a 429 response. Persistent abuse may result in key suspension.
Address data is derived from publicly available government sources (NAD, Overture Maps, Census Bureau, FEMA). We make no warranty that data is complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose including mortgage underwriting, regulatory compliance, or emergency services. Always verify critical address decisions independently.
We target high availability but do not guarantee a specific uptime percentage at this time. A formal SLA will be introduced at the Enterprise tier. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
The GeoClear API, software, and documentation are our proprietary property. The underlying address data originates from public-domain government sources. You retain ownership of any data you submit to the API.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeoClear's total liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Either party may terminate at any time. You may cancel your subscription via the portal. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violation of these Terms. On termination, your API key is deactivated and your account data may be deleted after 30 days.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
