GeoClear ("we", "us", "our") operates the GeoClear API and website at geoclear.io. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information — email address provided at signup or checkout.
• Usage data — API request counts, timestamps, and the query parameters sent to our address lookup endpoints.
• Payment data — billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID; we never store card numbers.
• Log data — server logs including IP address, request path, and response codes, retained for up to 30 days.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provision and operate the API service
• Send your API key and billing-related transactional emails
• Enforce rate limits and detect abuse
• Improve the service (aggregate, anonymised usage patterns only)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Address Data You Query

Addresses you submit to the API are used solely to return lookup results. We do not store the content of your queries beyond short-lived server logs (30 days) and do not associate queried addresses with your identity for any purpose other than rate limiting.

4. Third-Party Services

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• SendGrid — transactional email delivery.
• Render — cloud hosting (Virginia, USA).
• US Federal APIs — Census Bureau Geocoder and FEMA NFHL are called for enrichment. No personally identifiable information is sent to these APIs.

5. Data Retention

Account and API key records are retained for the life of your account. Usage counts are retained indefinitely in aggregate form. Server logs are purged after 30 days. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us.

6. Security

API keys are stored as hashed values. All traffic is encrypted in transit via TLS. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to active subscribers. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
